I broke the handle on my Lee original auto prime (round tray) and just emailed Lee and they emailed right back staring they were very sorry for the breakage and please send the original auto prime to them and they would bill me 1/2 the cost for any of the 3 new priming tools.

They also stated that there was issues with the originals and certain primers as this is why it was discontinued. they stated the reason they want it back is so they can dispose of it for safety reasons.

I have to say offering me 1/2 off because they don't make the handle anymore is awesome. that is really great CS.

The handles for the new primer fit the old (round) primer. I broke the handle on my old primer and purchased a new style Lee primer. It was a real PITA to use so I just swapped the handles. Works just fine.

really? I asked lee if I could swap them out and they said no and were pretty adamant about getting the round tray one back and giving me a new one.

I got to researching the new ones and for lee's shipping and 1/2 off I could go to the store and get one and support a LGS so emailed her back and told her no.

The new handles aren't officially made to fit the older style AP but often they do. The upper hole where the primer push piece slips in seems just slightly smaller for the new style. Mine didn't quite fit but just a little touch of the right sized drill bit to take the burr off did the trick. Worth a try as cheap as they are, if it works you'll have a spare
