Hi Ya'll, I just saw an ad for Lee rifle dies that claim they do not need to be lubed. Anybody tried these or know anyone who has. This could save a poor wretch like me alot of time on those piles of .223 ammo. Please shed some light on this. Thanks Mac::rolleyes:

I use Lee dies, and yes they claim due to construction and materials, lube is not needed for their dies.

Sounds like the Lee Collet Neck Size Die. Ok for loading brass to be shot in the same bolt or single shot action, no help for brass out of a different gun or for an auto.

Yes, the collet neck sizing die needs no lube, HOWEVER, the full length sizer does. Read the paper carefully. I bought a set thinking I wouldn't have to lube... WRONG, Only if you neck size only.

Only one company makes carbide resizing dies that I know of and they are over $100. Their pistol dies don't require lube.

I have both a set of full and neck sizing dies in 30-06. I enjoy the neck sizing dies alot in my savage, and use the full length dies for the garand. I find that the brass lasts quite a few extra loads if its just neck sized.

All of my pistol dies are Lee carbide dies. I don’t have to lube the brass.
Necked down rifle brass is a different story. I lube the case and inside the neck.

I have converted virtually all of my dies to Lee, Deluxe where possible, great stuff. I will be buying a Redding set for my Swiss rifle however, as they have the correct sized fls apparently. I will buy a set od collet dies as well for the Neck Sizing.
