As a aside, on the brass adj. knob I put a drop of locketite on the threads. It stiffens it up enough as to not vibrate or move if not intentionally moving it.
The zero adjusting poise should be spring loaded. Mine never moves from where I set it. As to the scale in general it works but you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear. :)

I have a Lee scale that came with my classic reloader. Didn't really like it.

Got a cheap digital, it failed quickly.

Looked back to old school style beam scales on Ebay. Got a Redding all metal scale. It will never wear out and it measures up to 350grains.

On ebay right now from $10-50.

BUT the most important thing to have is a set of Check weights. Otherwise no matter what scale you use, you use a scale of unknown weights.

be safe.

I have said it before. IMHO the most important tool in reloading is a good accurate scale. A beam balance over a electronic. To get a really quality electronic costs a lot of money.

I use LEE equipment but not their scale. Yes, it can be accurate but it is such a PITA to use.

Reliable charge weights is one of the most important things in reloading, IMHO. I don't like relying on any one scale by itself. I have a Hornady beam scale, Lee scale, Frankford digital, and Gemini 20 digital scale. I find myself using the Gem20 the most, but I always verify it against one of the others before making loads. And I have a set of check weights, too.
