I have a Pro 1000 with a large pistol case feeder. I want to be able to handle small pistol and rifle as well, and have noticed that Lee has a specific feeder for each. Will the small or large pistol not cover teh rifle? Or the rifle cover the small pistol? Just don't want to buy an extra part if I don't need it.

Thanks for any advice!

I have only the large brass case feeders on my two Lee pro 1000 presses. Now I don't load rifle rounds at all so can't help there but do load 9mm, 38spl/357 cases fine with the large and all use small pistol primers while the other press I use LLP for 45 acp and 45 colt. I've seen they sell two version like the pistol primers but it is a pretty simple thing as far as I can tell and unless I was trying to load a really thin case the large should work. I suggest you simply try it with a couple of cases you might have some doubt about and see how it works.

I didn't know there was a rifle. You are talking 223?

It would be easy to make the bushing that goes in the large to make it a small. You might be able to buy it as a part from the parts list at Fsreloading or price + shipping might be cheaper from Lee.

I couldn't get my 9mm to work on a large slider. nor could I get my 357's to work with my small slider. YMMV.

That is interesting greyling22 since the both work fine in my large tube feeder. Now the 9mm sometimes come down cocked a bit but still works once the case drops down.

Oh. Are we talking about the tubes & holder? Yours didn't come with both slides?
