Deciding to get a separate press just to use for military crimps (Rcbs crimp removal die). I am guessing this press is strong enough for the job but wanted to make sure....the price scares me. Ha. My Classic Turret is great for the price so I am not that worried.

Classic cast press is a great deal and plenty strong - you can't go wrong with that one. The dies are a great deal as well - I've got mixed feelings about some of their other gear but again, the classic cast turret and single stage presses are a great deal.

The single stage cast iron "Classic" is an excellent press. It is a great deal and plenty strong for any reloading task.

I have tried the RCBS crimp removal die on an old RCBS Partner press (or it might be a Junior but the point is it is not a Rock Crusher) that I have. I feel the press does not have enough grunt to do the swaging properly.

My concern would be similar for the Lee but I do now that the mechanical advantage of the Lee is different and more than on my press.

Why do folks get a dedicated press for that? Will the turret not handle it? I have no experience with undoing military crimps.

Because of the way the RCBS swaging die is designed it doesn't eject the case on the up stroke with a Lee(cylinder does not fit because Lee has the primer feed set up the way they do).

I've used the newer Lee 4 hole auto index press and have ran 500 9mm with the RCBS pocket swage kit. It did the job with no issues. Make sure your press is securely bolted down and you'll like the RCBS swage kit a lot better.

I contemplated getting this kit as well as I think it may be a little faster than the RCBS

Gotcha.
Also I guess you knew I meant press. Not sure why "scale" was in my head.

I have two Lee Reloader presses I bought back about '90 for special purpose work. They are astonishingly strong and probably have sufficent strength for the RCBS crimp remover but I don't think they have enough flat clearance around the ram for the base cup of that device.

You probably know the Reloader doesn't have an on-press repriming device.
