Lee Turret Press Vs Lee Classic Turret for Handgun Reloading

I did the Lee Classic Turret Press kit from Cabelas. Works great so far...I've loaded 45acp, 223, 7.62x54R, 303 Brit, and 30-06. I ended up getting lots of other goodies too but the Lee Classic Turret press is built very very well!

Thanks to all who gave me assistance on this thread. I went ahead and ordered the Classic Turret Press and the other accessories I had listed earlier. I decided to upgrade the scale from the Lee to the Lyman Pro 505. I considered what an earlier poster said about weighing the whole cartridge and decided to invest in a little more expensive scale. I also picked up a few ammo boxes and the Lee and Lyman reloading handbooks.

I'll have to forego the case tumbler for now. I overshot my planned budget by about $100, so I'll clean cases when they need it or by hand.

My good looking wife gave me a look when I told her the cost. BUT, she's the one who's disappointed when we're at the range and I tell her that we shot up all the ammo. She gets the .45 in her hand and can't stop grinning when she's punching holes in the paper. "Oh, we used up all the .45's, get out the .357" she'll say. I'm glad I have the .22 revolver to plink with. At least that's fun and reasonable.

So I'll be hanging around learning more from this forum and maybe ask a few other questions when I run into problems. Have a good one.

CBP, congrats on getting the Lee Classic Turret press. I have one and think you will be very happy with yours. If you have any setup questions or other questions there are a lot of us out here that own one and can help. I found the press to be very easy to setup and use. You only have to clean the brass enough to get the dirt off or anything else that can scratch the sizing die. A tumbler would be a good investment when you can get one.

You won't be sorry you bought the Classic press over the other.

I hope you bought Carbide Dies instead of Steel, they last much longer and require no lube.
