I asked this same question over at Lee Loader forum and received zero interest/replies.
I now find myself very frequently using an old model Lee Three Hole Value press. I use it for working up new pistol loads as I can easily remove the case after each station for inspection or for short runs of 50 or less. I also have now found it works very well in loading 223rem and use it for this with just 2 dies. Set up as such; station one, empty, prime in this position. Station two is the drop thru die with a Auto Drum. Station three is the seating die.
Now the reason for this question is that Lee has discontinued all support and removed all parts for the old style 3 hole and 4 hole Value press and has updated the base to match the Pro1000 and Pro4000 ABLP.
My intention is to mod a new Value press and replace the Turret Ring with one from an old 3 hole press because I have no use or need for a fourth position and to try and fit the Auto advance from the 3 hole press onto the ram of the new model press or changing the ram as well as I have a couple of them. Though if able to use the new ram with the Auto advance from the 3 hole I would also still be able to take advantage of the Safety Prime.
