I ended up buying a Lee Ultimate 4 die set in 30-30. It has a FL resizer, a neck die, seater die, and factory crimp die. I already have a Lyman short M die that can be used with handgun cartridges or short rifle, like 30-30. I just need to get an expander from Lyman.

I figure with those dies that I should be able to load both jacketed and lead. I could also single load rounds directly in the chamber if I wanted to shoot uncrimped spritzer bullets, like Nosler ballistic tip or Sierra 125's.

Unless you are shooting a Contender it's my opinion a neck sizing die in 30-30 is a complete waste of money and metal. Anything shot in a levergun requires full length sizing.

BTW, you can actually load 2 "pointy" rounds in a levergun, one in the chamber and one in the tube. The big problem is, unless the bullets you load are specifically designed to reliably expand at the lower velocities generated by the 30-30 you just might have a problem on game. The round or flat nose bullets meant for loading in the 30-30 are constructed differently than bullets meant for the 30-06, 308 and similar cartridges.

yep, skip the neck sizing die if loading for a levergun,I had way too many that would not let the bolt close. I tried it 'just because' and soon found that the common thinking was correct,fl sizing is the way to go.
Crimping is something we reloaders argue about for days on end for some reason . I choose to crimp everything just a smidge,or more if going in a tube magazine. You may get away fine without it,I'd say try a few of each and let the gun make the decision.
