So, as a lefty, can I pick up any standard right sided lock flinter, shoot it and expect to have any eyebrows left? I want one pretty bad, but don't feel like finding a special one.
Like yourself, I'm a southpaw and I have shot flintlocks belonging to the right handed majority. When you concentrate on that front sight picture, you don't even notice when the gun goes off. However, as with any other firearm, wear eye protection.
Thanks, maybe I just saw that Michael Jackson accident video too many times as a kid. I guess when I get the smokepole I'll go light on the Soul Glo that day.

A Caution: Regardless of your handedness, don't fire a flinter from the hip. The ball of fire from the pan rises straight up and will probably remove your eyebrows. You need to shoot one to know what I'm talking about. HTH
