Davidson's has this item in stock. Anybody have any experience with the .454 in the Puma 92? They also have the .480 Rug.

Anybody have any experience with the Puma 92 in other calibers.

Thought this would make a great truck gun.

TIA

I have a Puma 92 in 45 Colt that I use for CAS. Light, accurate and after a spring kit and several thousand rounds a smooth trigger. I also refinished the stock and replaced the sights. I've never had a misfeed.

There is a guy on here that shoots one in 454. Do a search.

Good solid rifle with TERRIBLE sights. I replaced mine with Williams Fire Sights.

I have shot a lot of 454 and heavy .45 Colt through mine, and the only thing to come loose is the load port door on the side...

Good accuracy, and the recoil pad dampens the heaviest load.

I would buy another...

The Model 92 is one of my favorite rifles of all time, but I don't think it is up to full blown 454 loads. Some of the factory loads that are on the market should be fine, but even this reinforced action is not up to the original 454 loads. I'd buy one, don't get me wrong. They are a lot of gun for the money. I would also use caution in what I fed it least it get terminal indigestion.

Shot a buddy of mine's the other month It's friendly in .45lc, and punishing (IMO) in .454 Casull. Since then, the word I got was that he had his gunsmith (who is known to be competent) drill it for a scope mount, and that the .454 load blew the screw out, through the scope :what:

I really like mine. As Desert Dog said, the sights are poor (the rear sight, mainly), but it is a great rifle. I've put all kinds of 45LC through it as well as 454. The low powered 454 (on par with maxed out 44 mag) are fun and full powered 454s are a lot of fun (though a bit rough if you're shooting from a bench). I've had mine for year and a half and it's been flawless so far.
