Thanks! That one has a new border stamp by Robert Beard and I think it was my first rosette on a finished piece. I don't even remember what color I used. It might have been a weird combination of colors because I don't care for the way it turned out. It was just something I cranked out quick to be able to carry the Lemat last season.
The Tandy professional water stain is actually very good. Works much better than the water-based powder dyes.Interesting that you're not keen on the color. I think it looks great - really rich looking.
When I made sheaths I was in California. The oil based leather dies are illegal there. So I tried a water bases product and then gave up and just conditioned the leather after that.
