Never too many K-frames...

I appreciate the input!

I have 2 K-frames already, hence my interest the the chunkier L-snub. On the other hand, I really do like Ks, having a 4-inch (64) and a 3-inch (65) already, so may as well just round out the collection with a shorty, I suppose...

It was (686 snub), in my opinion, just "off" when compared to the K-frame.

I agree with Steve (ps, that was a nice Norinco you sold today!). But let's pay it respect - it's a good platform. Here's one I have...

I don't own any of these unfortunately. I think XavierBreath might have written about this one on his blog; A rare 3" M49 if I remember correctly. A 3" bbl on a J-frame really starts to look "non-snubby". :)

Love that 36, Rick. And props on the home-made adapter! Here's the sole J frame I can claim:

Tell us all about it! Is it plated or polished? Who did the work? What all did you have done?

C&L that's a wicked home rolled New Service snubby!

BayouBob.. what are those white fingergroove grips on that nickel DS in the back?

My prize snubby: Colt Magnum Carry, Bianchi Speed Scabbard, Uncle Mike's Speedloader Carriers, HKS Speedloaders.

Kind of Blue,
That 3"er is freaky looking. Never seen such an unsnubby snubby. The shroud and the barrel make it look like a funhouse trick mirror or something.
Here's mine. Nothin fancy. Just a safe queen. Looking for a workhorse. Honest wear looks RIGHT on a snubby.

It's polished. I removed the warning on the barrel, rounded all of the edges, contoured the DAO hammer to match the frame and a complete action job. The sight is a Hi Viz. I do all of my own work.

Nice work, very cool, do you have a shop?

Here's a couple of pics of my S&W 369, it's a 360 that's been rechambered to 9mm (9x23), cylinder cut for moon clips, holes chamfered, action job, bobbed hammer, rounded/polished trigger, and a fiber optic front sight. All of that work was done by Mark Hartshorne/Pinnacle High Performance. I had Robar coat the cylinder with NP3 because was very rust prone, so now it's two-tone. I did install the CT grips myself but that's about the extent of my gunsmithing skills!:)

This is my Charter Arms Bulldog .44spl. It's had an action job, the front sight shaved off and a fiber optic dove tailed in, trigger smoothed and polished and the hammer polished to match, the edges of the trigger guard smoothed and the whole gun bead blasted to get rid of some blemishes.

And last, but not least, this is the Taurus 905 DAO "Instant Backup". It is original except for the pink CT laser grips.

An old Charter Arms 5-shooter. This is my daily carry piece in an Uncle Mike's soft pocket holster. 2 Bianchi speed strips in the other pocket for a total of 15 rounds. Totally invisible, even in summer.
