I really like my S&W 686 Plus, 2 1/2". Right now, it's my house gun, a chore it shares with the Sig P-226. The S&W has the dreaded lock, but the trigger is as slick as my old Model-66 used to be-very nice. This is a fun to shoot, hard hitting .357 and very accurate. A definite keeper

Wow. Wondundee- Those are some real early chief specials. I really like the one with the circular trigger gard and early hammer. Would you mind giving me the first few numbers of the serial? I'd like to compare it to mine.

Mine's a flat latch sq butt. serial is 399xxx. Been told it's around 1966 but I don't know for sure.

Some don't consider a 3" a snub but here's a 13-3 anyways.

OK, someone has to tell my where Reb got a nickel plated GP100 with fiber front sight. I'm guessing Bowen but... What esle does it have? How about some more photos.

Performance center 940. It's chambered in the short lived .356 TSW round which is 9x21.5

pj150,

The serial # on my baby Chief is 4026x, I was told it was unfired, but who knows? Anyway, it's my only "safe queen." I always said I wouldn't have a gun I didn't shoot, but now i just say "Never say never.";) I got the other flatlatch so I'd have something to carry. Since then, I got the LadySmith, so the old one gets to rest. The only thing about carrying a LadySmith, it destroys your manly image.

Here's another picture of it. I think it dates to 1953-54

Thanks. You have a wonderful piece. Looks pretty mint and I would try to keep it that way. They sure don't make them like they used to.

A early M&P

I have been looking for a 2" transitional M&P like that for a long time. That is by far the nicest I've seen. Congrats. (And the Chief Special's aren't bad either!

Here's my 19-5 - my favorite carry gun.

Oro,

That M&P was probably one of my best ever gun deals. I was at a local gunshow here last spring and saw a group of older gentlemen looking at what I thought a snub S&W. I heard the owner say he wouldn't take less than $275.00 for it. I stood there fidgeting until it was handed back to the owner, then I asked to see it. It never left my hands after that. I didn't even try to get him to come down on the pricei It is nice.

Good heavens, Oro... that's gorgeous.

Something about that barrel length on the 19 really does it to me.

Does Smith make anything close to it nowadays?

After seeing all those I'm kind of embarrased to post mine. Walther p22, Ruger sp-101, and 1974 Colt Cobra. .22lr, .357 mag, and .38 spl respectively 100_0528.jpg

This old Charter Arms Undercover finds its way into my pocket more and more these days.

Only decent photo I have of my snub at the moment... I'll have to borrow the good camera again to get another of just the gun by itself.

Laugh at my Rossi if you like. I spent the extra money on a lot of ammunition.
