I took this photo yesterday but forgot to post it...DUHHH!
The Shield is my primary for CC. The Radom in my avatar sometimes relieves it of duty for awhile...sometimes a long while. Im carrying the Radom to work lately, but when I run outside in gym shorts at night bringing out garbage, etc, shield is what I carry. I also carry it in social situations where I need to be especially discreet., and dont even want to wear a holster. The belt clip is great, it really is. Draw is fast. The safety has only come off one time in the four years Ive had this gun, and that was in the first few weeks after I installed the clip. Now I check it habitually without thinking, like when I round a corner in a public place and know Im finally alone, or in a bathroom, getting out of car, etc. It helps me to stay alert and I like it. It just never came off due to any activity again, and I havemt had to restrict mysel in any way that handicaps me.
. Ive also made it a reflex to flick the safety off on drawing, and dont have to tbink about it anymore. Its a very light stroke required and I tend to put more into it than I have to...which is still not taxing. I dont mean to overexplain myself here, but many people are divded on safeties for this type of gun.
Anyhoo, I recently bought this Gerber folding tanto made of 164cm steel to replace my other Gerber that I had for 18 years but lost last year. I searched feverishly for a knife made of a better Amercian steel for a good price. This was about $40, and no other knife made of 164cm that size came close . I have to admit its a litt,e tediius to sharpen but holds an edge well. It will cut aluminum better than paper! Its just the type of texture it is. We just got a new knife sharpener at work which does a good job on it but took the finish off in some places.Whatever, its a "working knife" not a status symbol ...and it works well. Note that knife and Shield bkth have belt clips. Just the way it happened. I fine tune it after running it across the grindstone with a telescoping pocket diamond studded steel.
