Is that an Uberti? I'm guessing it is. I have a EL Patron, .45, which I don't know if it qualifies as "budget". But no matter how much I examine it, I don't/can't see where it plays second fiddle to a Colt. I paid $750 for mine, which compared to a Colt would be budget for sure!

Above the El Patron is a EMF "Hartford Model" that I got for next to nothing from a guy who couldn't see the sights anymore. Nice pistol, but does not fire full power .357 well. (primers back out) Fine with hot .38 Special loads.
Yes, despite all the hate Taurus gets, I believe their relovers are a steal and are well made. Mine is an all forged stainless steel revolver that cost me little over $200 retail NIB. Most other budget priced revolvers are cast. You get into the $900 or more price range to get an all stainless forged frame revolver.I'm not surprised to see so many Taurus Model 85's in this thread. I've owned six or so. All of them went bang. This one cost a little more than $200 used in 2022. I use it for practice to keep down the wear on my fancier carry revolvers. It replaced the previous Model 85, which gave up its life protecting me from my friend's faulty handloads.
Darn... I never seen them that inexpensive. You got the LCR retail NIB for $300? I think I paid between $400-$500 back in 2012 for my 357 LCR.View attachment 1169604

I just order a couple of those.Had to pull my Ruger 38spl folder (where I keep its spare parts and OEM parts). The Pachmayer grips are not significantly larger but they are ever so slightly wider such that I had started to gently grind down the left side where my old speed loader would be used However, I found that 5 Star Firearms sells a great aluminum speed loader specifically made for it. J2-357/38 Speed Loader. And the price hasn't changed in 4 years.

Me neither but I've bought nice used budget priced ($300) revolvers from the big 3-4 manufacturers for less than new "budget" gun prices occasionally. If I bought a budget revolver it probably be a Taurus.I can’t play. I don’t have one
I believe they are both owned by Beretta and sold under various brands.
It is inexpensive compared to my first generation Colt SAA revolvers.
Is that a old H&R 9 shot 22? And i dont think it gets any lpwer budget then free nice find. A couple of the old top breaks i have i bought in basket case condition most for next to nothing. Where the former owner thought they would take them completely apart then couldnt get them back together. Picked up a few nice old 22 rifles at flea markets over the years that was "broke" and all they needed was years of gunk cleaned out and they ran like new. This one was free because the owner thought it was broken. A good cleaning and it works just fine.View attachment 1169842
Ok, now I want one! Sigh.I paid $260 for this, 3 years ago. It really is my favorite "budget" revolver.
