Well, there always has to be one guy who doesn't understand the purpose of the multi-position telescoping stock. It's not an M-4 thing. It's mostly a body armor thing.
Heck, I've even got one on one of my hog rifles so that I can get the same scope relief wearing a t-shirt or winter parka.

Gordon, use the front curve of the fresh mag to hit the release and push the new mag out in one move. Works fine with the vert grip in place.

And ideal LOP for a CQB gun you're going to be bringing up from the low ready and firing from a standing or kneeling position is not the same as ideal LOP for shooting from the prone. Even without body armor in the equation, I run my M4 stock shorter for CQB drills than I do for more deliberate shooting from the prone.
