This started out as a generic "Dirty Harry Special" with a 6 1/2" bbl and blue finish.
I sent it to the S&W custom shop for a 4" bbl, pinned Partidge front sight, narrow, smooth trigger and action work.
The grips are Jerry Miculek's design.
The hard chrome is by Bob Cogan.

Japle... that hard chrome looks gorgeous... how do you like it?

I have an extra blued Colt Detective special that I was thinking of having nickeled or hard chromed... I know the hard chrome is harder, but I like the soft gleam of nickel... tough choice. Would you go with Bob Cougan's chroming services again?

Here's two of my favorites.
This one I don't shoot.

This one I do and it shoots great.

"Scratchy,

Those black/green laminated grips are very neat looking. Where did you get them? "

They were on the gun when I bought it. When I get a chance I'll take them off and see if there's any ID on the backs.

Japle, that's a really great looking gun...super nice conversion! I've got a Springfield 1911A1 that Bob Cogan hardchromed for me back in about 1992. He does an incredible job...impeccable work. My N frames...

Well, I finally got around to and hopefully someone can help ID these thingys.
Both panels look identically (rubber)stamped, but only the left is legible. The words are in four slightly arced lines(? indicate illegible markings):
SMITH & WESSON
HAN(screw hole)?N ?? Co.
1-800-331-0??2
Ext. 2??4

Are these actual S&W manufacture???

Thanks DHart. I'd like to take this chance to say I've been admiring your photo work for some time now. You certainly have an eye for the light. I know you were/are a professional and like to see your talent on these forums. As for the revolvers you've shown us, Holy Mackeral! I can only imagine what your collection must look like. Keep up the good work.

Steve

Thanks Steve... I'm glad you appreciate the pics... your photo of that 27-3 shows that you're no slouch in the photo area yourself... a really nice image of a magnificent S&W.

All beautiful guns I would love to have for myself. But if forced to pick only one, I'll take Randy's RM.

Here's a couple of goofy N frames
