Jonsey, you did very well with both the price and revolver. Model 28's are going up in price at a quick pace.View media item 7I purchased this pre-model 28 Highway Patrolman at a LGS last week for under $600 out the door. I think it looks pretty good for a 60 year old gun. Obviously its been carried from the wear on the end of the barrel and on the right hand grip panel. This is my first N frame
I have not shot it yet and doubt that I will.
The Ahrends cocobolo grips are no longer available due to the tree being put on the endangered list. I suspect "old" cocobolo grips for the N frames will bring some decent money in the future. Well beyond that, it is a beautiful wood. Here is one I bought a few years ago for $550. The guy selling it said he got it from a retired CHP officer.
It came with Pachmayrs and the original grips were long gone.
I put a set of Ahrends cocobolo grips on it.
This gun sure has a nice trigger and is quite accurate. It does have holster wear.
It's a 28-2
