Lets see you best shot. Picture proof competition. DONT POST UNLESS YOU READ RULES!

I've really been looking for some competition lately. Anyone game?

Take you favorite handgun and complete two challenges.

NEW RULES We will break this into two categories. Rimfire and centerfire. This will keep it more even.

Best three shot group. Iron sights. Make sure and use 1" graph paper targets. For easy validation. These are nice targets.
http://www.mytargets.com/target102gs grid square center.pdf It would be great if everyone used the same target for easy comparison.

Measure your best groups and post them. It didn't happen if there isn't a picture. Add both numbers together and that will be your total score. Measure from center to center to give those that shoot larger calibers an even chance.

10 yards from a rest. Arms and butt of gun only, no sandbags.

10 yards off hand.

Get your targets posted here by the end of next Saturday and we'll crown the winner.

There will be no prize

Here is a Beretta 92FS @ 25 yards. This group was shot last week, and not to the above specs, but I am pretty proud of it. The gun has had a trigger job, but all other parts and tolerances are factory issue/spec.

Too funny, OP...

That is the same target I print off from that site...

I just tossed some that impressed me as I wasn't really 'aiming' for accuracy at 25 yards...I used the target just to line up my shots over a chrony, as I was working on a .38 special load through my Blackhawk, not my shooting skills...

I'll see if the trash has gone yet...

Sorry, 15 yrds, 50 shots, off hand. 1939 Registered Magnum.

pre25_best_target.jpg

1955 Pre-25, 15 yrds, 50 shots offhand.

lb6_012112.jpg

Les Baer 38 Super, 50 shots 15 yrds, offhand.

10 yrds is too easy and 3 shots is too few too determine if the load was accurate.

While much that has been shown is good shooting it doesn't meet the requirements. We are looking for targets that you went and shot this week with the requirements in mind.
Another tread about your past targets would be interesting but please respect the direction we are trying to go.

To those that have posted please reshoot with above requirements and then we can all compare.

Get out there and do your best.

155 rounds (three boxes + 5) of mixed handloads at 10 yards, standing, double-action as fast as I could reload.
1942 Colt Commando .38 Special.

Not especially trying for accuracy.
Just functionin testing a gun that had problems.

Before anyone points out a had a few out of the group?
Pretty sure the target tried to get out of the way a few times! :D

Well it's good you put it back in its place with the rest of those rounds ;)

I'm guessing that barrel was hot enough to roast marshmallows on after though...

Kewl. I'm going to the range later this week, and will try to give this a whirl.

This is typical of the groups I get with my 10.5" .44 Mag. Ruger Super Blackhawk with my target handloads. The two targets pictured above were shot on April 15 at the local indoor range, offhand slowfire at 74 feet (24.67 yards). Sorry, I don't have any 10 yard targets as I don't find it challenging to shoot at such a short distance. :D (Handload info, in case anyone's interested: 240 gr. Hornady XTP projectile atop 23.6 gr. of W296, WLP primer, OAL 1.605", velocity approx. 1550 fps from a 10.5" barrel.)

th_Ruger_SRH_454_Target_20120314_01.jpg

The target above was shot on March 14 with my 7.5" .454 Casull Ruger Super Redhawk, offhand slowfire at 74 feet (24.67 yards). Handload info is written on the top left of the target.

Edited to add: Oops, just read the OP's request for targets shot within the past week. Guess that gives me an excuse to go shooting sometime within the next few days!

I usually leave a one shot hole group, but I cant find the picture

Just take a picture of a single shot and claim it was 50.

Or do shooting with a 9mm carbine and claim it was done with a LCP.

Well when the barrel is already touching the target.....how hard can it be? ;)

My attempt.

Glock 34. PMC. 124 grain.

10 yards from rest.

yeah that's crazy nice shooting. I may have to break out the Beretta Neos .22 and see if I can do better.

I would like to see a pic of your gun. That's really good shooting.
