Any of the Mora's are a lot of knife for the money, but this is my favorite.

Amazon.com : Morakniv Kansbol Fixed Blade Knife with Sandvik Stainless Steel Blade and Plastic Sheath, 4.3-Inch : Sports & Outdoors

Price runs in the low $30 range. It is the same blade profile as the Garberg which is closer to $90, but is thinner. Unless you're splitting firewood I find the thinner blade much more useful. The basic Companion is only $15ish, but I just like this a lot better. The sheath is a lot better and overall worth double the money. I bought one of the $90 Garbergs. I like it, but wouldn't do it again, especially at 3X the price.

My favorite inexpensive knives used to be sold in most grocery stores but I don't see them anymore in my local... They're simple butcher's knives in high carbon steel made under the Old Hickory brand. I particularly liked the 6" stiff boning blade with riveted wooden handle and still keep one on my workbench within reaching distance... Good hard steel that will take and hold an edge - and not much different from photos I've seen of early Ek blades that were quickly made and carried overseas during WWII... Very handy for a variety of uses and less than $20 for the last examples I saw being offered for sale... Checked over on E-Bay and found the exact model... and it's only $13.24... with free shipping.

They're not rust free at all and do require a bit of care but still a very good value all these years later...

This is a Leatherman Crater knife, US made, with a 420HC blade and a liner lock. It has a retractable carabiner/bottle opener, and lists new for $30.

Very handy light knife, with Leatherman quality and their 25 year guarantee. My one gripe is they only have the thumb opener on one side, not good for a lefty like me.

I was fortunate to find this one in the $2 used knife box at a gun show last year.

The 2 knives that come to mind for me is the Coast FX350 that I purchased for $26.00 and the 140mm 80crV2 carbon steel Terävä Jääkäripuukko from Varusteleka (with sheath) that I purchased for $75.00.

No pictures, lost all of mine again, have to resupply....i did order a bunch from midway with my last scope order, and that included a couple Moras for work. I didnt realise one i ordered wasnt stainless, so that one will be added to the hunting stuff.

Having lost a few really expensive folders, only expensive knives ill have now are limited use fixed blades, and none of my current ones are that pricey.
