yeah but from the looks of it that's a gateway not much to brag about there:neener: just messin man, i had a gateway and had nothing but trouble. others have had great experences.

What do you use the two monitors for?

Do you use both?

I had 3 Gateways and loved them (Not the last one, only liked it)

Bought a Dell, and it will be my last. Nothing but Pakistan (edited out: slurs unbecoming a THR member) working for them

There Tech support sucks!

The "office". Yes there are computers. Gun related; a pic of my favorite gun of the week is used as wallpaper on the PC but not visible in this shot.

Once you try a dual monitor system you'll never go back.

One is your primary monitor (works just like the one you're used to) but if you move your mouse off the edge of it "toward" the other monitor it appears on the second monitor. You can drag an open application over there (i.e. a window) and if you maximize it then it'll maximize just on that monitor (not both).

I'm a software developer, so being able to look at a bunch of things at once makes it easier to keep track of what I'm doing. But, even just browsing the web and doing comparative shopping is easier with multiple browswers on two monitors.

It's very cool.

Well...

This is the best pic of my office area I have, the hot-rodded Emachines T1801... 800mhz celeron running 900mhz, plexiglass window, extra fans, aftermarket cooler....

To keep this gun related, there are 7 guns in the same room.
(First time posting pic, so bear with me)

"I knew it I knew it all along. George is a Troll!!!!!!!!"

No... River folk... similar to Hobbits. We love good food and shooting... and chilling out on boats... and strangling people who get in our way.

And, to keep this gun related ...

Do you suppose Sisco is packing when he goes to work??

That would make an interesting "Should I carry when company policy says NO" thread! :D

Cheers,
ChickenHawk

1. What Techbrute said.
2. It's one thing if people want to try to be cute but you're off by a few hundred miles.

Cool thread, will post an image when I get home.

Here's where I access THR at home. I will be moving at the end of the month, so it will soon be different. (Can you name the gun in the picture?)

At my work I've astually set up quite a few triple monitor stations for the radiologists- 2 19" flat panels for reading MRI and CAT scans, and 1 15" flat panel for worklists n such.

It's pretty bling. :D I'll get a pic maybe tomorrow and post my REAL (somewhat messy) desk.

edit: just realized that I took this pic a little while ago as part of a trap for someone who was bothering the daughter of one of my employees. At least it shows the wall and ceiling of my work. ;)

edit again: Gah, I just can't even get used to looking down the IMAGE of a barrel. Gives me the creeps, it does.

Company policy was changed a few months ago. Got a weapon in your car out in the parking lot? No problem, just don't bring it inside (No CCW in Kansas anyway). Our plant super still holds a CCW from his former state of residence.
Company let the employees build our own shooting range on the property, have concrete benches with targets out to 400 yards. They supplied all the materials.
10,000 acres with quail, white tail and mule deer, pheasant and an occasional prairie chicken; hunting is allowed.

And no, Homer don't work there :D

Here's my home computer desk. Aluminum Case / Athlon 64 3200+ / 1GB Corsair PC3500 RAM / 36GB WD Raptor 10,000RPM SATA hard drive (plus a large storage drive / wireless keyboard, mouse, and yes, wireless joystick too! .

And to keep it gun related, I set the two 10mms I got today on the desk. A Springfield Linkless 10mm, and a Glock 29.

You got the same cheap desk and shelving units I do! Don't you just love furniture that costs as much as a pizza?

yep, why spend money on fancy office furniture, when I can spend it on ammo. :D
