Let's See'em...3 Gun Carts

I picked up a decent jogging stroller about 6 months ago for $7. I planned on making a 3-gun cart out of it and use it for trap competitions as well. Well, it sat in the basement, with nothing done to it and now I find myself needing a cart for an upcoming 3 gun match on September 8th.

I'm kind of torn on how to set it up, so I wanted to see some of the ones you guys have put together.

So, lets see'em....

We use the Rugged Gear carts. Might take a look at their web page and get some idea's or... send in an order.

Not wanting to be mean or anything but I prefer to carry my gear. When I get older (am 51) I may use one but it is a good form of cardio to tote your gear. Will spend the next 2 days doing so during two 3Gun matches.

The use of the carts is viewed with humor by many that visit matches for the first time.

After carrying my gear I am sore but that is part of the game. Don't use a folding chair either - you should be on your feet pasting and resetting.

Seriously though, I do have an old back injury from football that doesn't allow me to carry excessive weight for long periods of time. With up to a quarter mile between a few stations, I'd be pretty much worthless by the middle of the day. Trust me, if I had the ability to carry all my gear, I would.

Hunterdad: If you need one go for it! Go to Walmart get tactical spray paint and cammo it up. Add any decals from your weapon's manufacturer / upgrades (Magpul, NordicComp, Timney) and shoot your best runs.

I would adapt your cart and
use the $ you save to upgrade weapons or buy ammo. My 2 cents.

If you picked up a couple of sets of the ATV handlebar gun mounts from Walmart etc and clamped a set on each side of the stroller frame, that would take care of 2 long guns easy enough.

Local baby jogger for $15 and atv mounts with some tubing and double split set collars.

Tried washing the fabric part the other day and it pretty much just fell apart. Had a few hours today, so I got a little creative.

Cowboy action shooters use carts to move our long guns and gear between stages. Most folks build wooden carts but the jogging stroller-based carts have a following. Some local clubs' rules require muzzle-up orientation. I made mine to hold four long guns muzzle up. If all you want to do is carry a rifle and shotgun muzzle down the ATV mount solution is the way to go. I think Rugged Gear will also sell mounts that can be added to a stroller frame.

I've got a pair of atv gun racks on the way. I may have to do some work to that top tray in order for them to work though.

I don't know what matches 3 gun eric goes to, but any major match that I have been to has the vast majority of the competitors using carts. Heck, some even bring golf carts or buggys... Maybe the Texas competitors are just wimps, though

That's what I was thinking. If I can make the day a bit easier on myself for about $40, I'm going to do it.

At the big matches like the TX multigun, I try and shoot with the RO/SO group so we can just drive from stage to stage. That's even better than pushing a cart.

That would have been nice this year....but that's because it was so dang cold in the mornings! I camped out in a tent Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights during this year's match and it got down near 40 degrees at times.

Like others I made it from a thrift shop jogging stroller. Can hold three shotguns and lots of ammo.

oh man. I dont know where you shoot, but that isn't nearly enough room to carry all the stuff I lug around to a match.

That large upper shelf is very useful. Minimizes the "stoop labor" of going through the bag on the lower side.

I put a shelf on my cowboy stroller cart but had to keep it small in order to be able to fold the the cart.

I made sure that the top tray was able to fold down for when the stroller is broken down. It rests right on top of the other tray when it's collapsed.
