I am a life long Floridian Military retiree and retired Law Enforcement Officer. In addition to the above I was a Small business owner for over 24 years. I oppose Sen. Schumer and Sen. Feinstein proposals. It is an Attack upon the 2nd. Amendment. I changed to a registered republican after returning from Viet Nam in 1966 due to the way President Johnson was handling the war as I lost to many fellow Marines while there. I crossed party lines in this last election and voted for you as I thought you were the best person for the job. If those bills are passed you will turn me into a criminal as I WILL NOT honor these unlawful laws and attack against the 2nd Amendment. As a LEO I don't remember any criminal I ever arrested who possessed a registered firearm to them. I have lived my life as an honorable citizen, don't turn me into a non law abiding criminal as I assure you I will not follow an unjust law. I am fed up with all the attacks upon us gun owners. If these laws are passed I will never again cross party lines.

Great letter but I think it will be falling on deaf (and dumb) ears. He has made it clear he does not care about what the people of Florida want, he will toe the line with his fellow Dems.
To bad we will have to wait 6 years to try to get him out, and I think he realizes this so he will vote for not what the people want but what he wants.

Please let us know what the response is

Justifying my means with their end.

The reply will be:
Thank you for contacting me about protecting Second Amendment rights.

I grew up on a ranch and have been a hunter since I was a boy. I have had guns all my life. I support a person's constitutional right to bear arms. I support the Second Amendment.

In 2008, the Supreme Court of the United States affirmed that the Second Amendment protects a person's right to possess a firearm, unconnected to military service, and to use that firearm for traditional lawful purposes like self-defense within the home. This is the law of the land.

I appreciate hearing your views on this subject. Hearing from you helps me to better serve you in the Senate.

Sincerely,
Bill Nelson

What he no longer says in his replies is that he supports reinstating, or passing a new, AWB, limits on magazine capacity and a host of other 2nd amendment infringements.

Every response I have gotten from Nelson has contained an elitist arrogance and direct objection to any appeal for him to perform his sworn duty to his constituents. Nelson is ecstatic as a party liner working to secure his legacy as measured in years at the government trough.

I got that notice from nra also.

Being B Nelson, I had no reason to write him about shooting. He is a lost cause.

I wish he would get the heck back home to Rocky Point (Melbourne/Grant area) and mind his own business.
