So I couldn't resist the urge to put a Ruger 762 AR in the stable.
Don't really have a lot of scopes as I prefer iron sights, but since this rifle will eventually get suppressed, and shot at 300-400 yds, I am looking into a fairly inexpensive scope for it.
In a quick search and some chat with local long range shooters, I looked at the Bushnell AR 3x9x40 w/BDC. But when I spent a minute looking at specs, I see it only has BDC for the .223, and while it has pretty clear glass, I have to cross that off the list.
I then found the Redfield Battlezone 3x9x42 which comes with both .223 & 7.62 BDC dials. I really like the Redfield Revolution I have on another rifle as it has very clear glass, holds zero, and is tough as nails. The fact that they have a no questions asked lifetime warranty and Leupold makes them also helps.
That said, hear is my question.
Since Leupold makes the Redfield line, what level/tier or scope do you think the Redfield Battlezone would compare with it? I would imagine that they are taking the glass from one of the Leupold line of scopes and using it for whichever Redfield scope calls for whichever glass. Doesn't make sense that they would tool up for 2 separate lens lines, but of course, I could be wrong, and I surely don't expect Redfield/Leupold to give me a "straight" answer.
Thoughts?
