Leupold VX-II 6-18x 40mm-- Comments?

Anybody have this scope? Optics Planet has some good Leupold prices right now and I'm scoping out this scope.

Also, I see that they have a 4-12X model at a deeper discount-- its MSRP is listed as higher than the MSRP of the 6-18x. What's up with that? Is that just due to more mark up on the 4-12x, or is the 4-12x made of better stuff?

It just depends. I would check the Leupold model number against a few more websites to see the actual retail price to make sure it isn't just a mistake. But a lot of times there are various models. Does the 4-12 have an adjustable objective maybe, where as the 6-18 lacks one? It could even be limited availability if its a hard to find reticle. For a while the varmint reticle commanded a premium.
