Lever action .22?

I'm a 39 guy through and through but if'n I had to admit it, those Henrys are good shooters. I have a friend with the Octagonal barrel version, very accurate even with the cheap stuff. Looks better than the Winchester and Browning too.

I've owned five 39's, still own two. Hunt with them regularly and shoot silhouette matches monthly - a better lever action 22 does not exist.

Marlin 39 Century Limited and Golden Mountie - I ain't seen nuthin better for making meat, knocking over silhouettes or packin around the woods

My Bro-in-law owns the Browning. OK, fast levering, but pale by comparison.

The browning does have a short throw, but.... I never really could see why I should care.
And the trigger moves with the lever - creepy!

Nice set of Mounties, 'Mo.

I am in the market for a .22 lever gun and although the browning is a nice looking piece and may be finely built, I cannot bring myself to buy a japanese made rifle. sorry. can't do it.
I think i'll be buying the marlin.
I had the henry .22 survival rifle a few years back. was not impressed with it at all (i know, i know...it's not a lever gun but...). I felt it was very cheaply made. It's the only gun I have ever sold. Sold it for $90 and felt like I ripped the guy off.
