I was just taking out my guns to get ready to go shooting tomorrow and I noticed slight orange discoloration on my CZ :what:

It was on the back of the grip, a little under the grip, the hammer, and the top of the slide. Luckily I was able to wipe it off with a cloth.

Since my other gun is a GLOCK I've never had to worry about rust before

The only gun oil I have right now is Hoppe's Lubricating Oil. Is a light coating of this adequate to prevent rust?

I like Breakfree CLP, though the Hoppes should work just fine.

Where/how do you store the guns?

One example of how storage matters: In my experience, keeping them inside a case (with foam) can lead to more chances of rust. If I have to leave a gun inside a case for any length of time, I make sure the foam is bone dry, and I usually slip the gun into one of those silicon-impregnated gun socks you can get at WalMart for about $5.

I highly second that! I live in a high humidity area (classified as a rain forest actually) and this past summer we had an unusually high amount of rain. Even with frequent checking, many of my guns started showing some surface rust and a little mold on the wood. None of the guns that I had in silicon gun socks did at all. I'm going to buy more of those things, they are worth the money. As an added bonus, they protect the guns from dings if you try to cram too many in the gun safe

I don't have a safe yet, I just leave them on the top shelf of my closet (locked up and everything).

I think it was caused my sweat last time I went shooting, I was shooting the gun for a couple hours and it was really hot out, I probably didn't wipe it down as well as I should have. Won't make that mistake again
