"We have seen numerous barrels damaged by using Lil'Gun. According to customers, some had as few as 30 rounds using Lil Gun through them, some had several hundred. Before we figured out what was happening one customer had sent his gun in for a new barrel. Then 600 rounds later it came back for another new barrel.

A couple years ago we did a test with a M83, .357 Mag. using Hornady 180 gr. bullets. We loaded 50 rds. of three different loads. One was a heavy H-110 load and the other two both used Lil Gun in different quantities.

We fired the H-110 loads first, then cut off the threaded end of the barrel. Rethreaded the barrel and shot one of the Lil Gun loads then rethreaded the barrel and shot the last Lil Gun load.

We found even the light load of Lil Gun caused the gun to get extremely hot. The heavy Lil Gun load had the gun so hot the only place we could touch the gun was on the grips and they were very hot.

Under magnification the surface appeared to have heated to a point of flowing using the Lil Gun loads and the heavy load was worse than the light load. This is probably due to Lil Gun having about 10% more nitro glycerin in it than H-110."

"I heard it on the internet" is rather vague and covers a lot of ground. I hear a lot of crap on the internet. Like this post for example. Nobody knows who you are. Nobody knows who I am. One must consider the source and IMHO, the names Bob and Wayne Baker carry FAR more credibility than your average anonymous forum member. The whole forum was that way. These weren't a bunch of know-nothings repeating whatever gossip they heard at the gun shop or local watering hole. It was started by members of The Shootists organization and if you know who John Taffin is, you probably have some idea who they are. So not 'just' a forum and not 'just' any ole discussion by random anonymous people. If Bob or Wayne Baker said there was accelerated forcing cone erosion observed with Lil Gun and no other powder, then that is what happened. You're free to disregard it if you like. I don't see any point in risking it for another 50fps. Not while H110 does the job quite nicely and if more is needed, 300MP is better than both anyway.

And yet.......here you are, calling my post "crap", and you can't provide any evidence at all to support your claim. You drop a bunch of names, imply your importance and knowledge level, yet...no data. You link to the one and only post on this, and the one I referenced in the very beginning. Note, there is NO DATA here, other than an opinion. How many YEARS of Lil Gun use has passed since this with NO follow up? You have completely proven my point in the beginning of this thread. Really, I couldn't have proven my point any better than this post you just made. Thanks for 100% supporting my argument. When you actually have some facts and data please come back and play again...until then...carry on.
