I have both a Dillon cv2001 case cleaner and a RCBS Sidewinder tumbler. Recently went to ceramic porcelain media in the RCBS. Instructions say to use it with water....and it works great, very impressive results.

I see a number of manufacturers void the warranty if a liquid/media is used in their vibratory case cleaners. Would like to use the ceramic media in the Dillon....why do they recommend only dry media?

dillon sells an liquid polishing stuff to add to their cleaner

Thats not the same thing as filling it up with ceramic media & water.

The reason most all vibratory polishers do not recommend the use of liquid cleaners is because the motor & wiring are setting right under the bowl.

If one of the mounting bolts springs a leak, you will have a motor full of water and a short circuit.

If you are going to use a dry media vibratory cleaner for wet use then at least use a GFI outlet. Don't touch the unit while it is plugged in either. Wet and electrictiy don't mix well. :)

BINGO! We have a winner.

Dillon explains why on page 5 of the instruction manual, which you obviously haven't read.

A plastic bowl full of water sitting on top of an electric motor can't possibly seem safe to the average person with a little common sense, can it? Being an electrician, I really hope you don't plan on going through with this brainstorm. I have seen some nasty stuff with regards to this combo.
