After she moves is when to sell them. I will recommend moving the collection yourself, never leave it in the hands of a mover.
Around here local auctions do well. Find an auctioneer that does a lot of gun auctions, and does a lot of advertising. I bought a couple of Colts at auction, about 150 guns sold in 3 hours. Almost all sold for book value or higher. You own the guns until sold and the auction house collects the money and writes you a check. That way no FFL for in state sales. The auction is on the hook for bad checks, and they have a FFL for those needing transfers.
If the guns are true collectables, I would start by talking with the major auction houses. They get a larger commission, but also have a nationwide following and get higher prices.
Gunbroker, there are enough sleezeballs that many collectors don't buy there. Local consignment around here get 25% and can take months to sell.
You have a lot of homework to do.
