Hi 1911,

Just wait'll I get started on Uncle Sam's Misguided Chilluns

My Dad and my Uncle were both Green Beret's in Vietnam. Are you sure you want to get ME started? I still remember Uncle Lee on the back porch with his guitar singing to his cows.

Everybody has their jobs, the Air Force drops the bombs to soften up the enemy. The Navy shells the bluffs to cover the Marines taking the beaches and 5th Special Forces takes all the credit. It's all good. :D

Well...Like the man said: "Only a crazy man would jump out of a perfectly sound aircraft."

Gramps and my brother were 82th Airborne as well. I hate it when a form asked if there is insanity in the family. :(

Then again there is the point, no matter what the vehicle eventually the time comes you will have to get out and push. A sound reason to stay out of the Navy/Marine Corps. :D

And the riposte to that is "There are no perfectly sound aircraft" ;)

Well, now that we seem to have put out a little fire here...

I hope the shooter comes clean of any ridiculous criminal charges and/or "Wrongful Death" civil sheepdip. Maybe this will send a message to
those who would offer violence to law-abiding people.

Maybe a few of'em will even mend their evil ways and get a job or somethin'...

Having been a passenger in an Air Force aircraft, and having been in freefall while IN an Air Force aircraft, I am of the solid opinion that there are no sound vehicles in the Air Force. I also will never [voluntarily] get on one again.

Oh to avoid any more thread drift: With the limited information available, sounds like a good shoot. I feel bad for the store owner.

Jdude...You simply will not do!

:D

1911Tuner,

I spent 4 years in the Navy and have been in the Hooligan Navy for the last 15. I was NOT offended by what you said. The last time somebody asked me what good the Coast Guard really was I told them that if it wasn't for us all Navy babies would be ugly!

Well, time for an on topic comment.
The radio said this morning the DA's office will not prosecute the store owner.
He acted in self defense.
Per this morning's paper Colo. law says store employees have a right to protect themselves.
No mention of any connection with the bad guy and military.

Well, time for an on topic comment.

I agree...and it's good that the authorities are at least making an acknowledgement that the right to self-defense does indeed exist. Too many people would like nothing more than to deny us that right. This incident delivers an important message, and I sincerely hope that the antis and the criminal element alike take careful note of that and mark it well.

The evening news said they arrested an accomplice, a woman who was driving for him. She's not a soldier either.

I feel sorry for the store owner having to shoot someone, but at least it was the right outcome.

Question on CO Law

I like how this sounds...and am curious, does that logically extend to citizens have a right to protect themselves - i.e., do you have shall-issue CCW in CO, and would the "no charges" verdict hold if this had been a home burglary?
