Ah yes another way to pigeonhole and condescend to people without taking the time to base judgments on objective data.
I do post the list. If I am immature at my age I'd take it as a compliment, but don't think I can make that claim.
I post a list for a few reasons. Partly because it helps people know whether I am speaking from experience when posting about, say Glocks, rather than parroting internet scuttlebut or what I read in the latest pseudo-hardcore mall ninja rag. Partly because it may (and in fact has) led to conversations of special interest to me about, as a case in point, smaller 1911s. Partly because I DO like to see what people own myself - primarily for the same reason I mentioned first in reverse - I prefer to read first hand experience when discussions are on guns I may like to own, but also because it gives me an idea of the overall firearms interests of the person posting. And finally I post a list because this is after all, not that you'd know it sometimes, a forum for discussing firearms, so by definition, firearams are on topic. Unlike sophomoric group-think amateur psychology, I might add.
If I really were insecure and immature, I'd fall in with the cool kids and "peer pressure" and delete the list in my signature.
