Assuming that I'm not the only one who has a specific list of guns "to be acquired", in a specific numerical order, based on available funds and perceived want/need, tell me, in order, the overriding principal reasons for prioritizing in the manner that you do.
Here are the different criteria/reasons for prioritizing:
A. LTBBS = Likely to be banned soon, or highly restricted in some way, by some level of government in your jurisdiction (federal, state, or local), such as homeland defense rifles, .50 calibers, pocket rockets, etc.
B. LTGOOPS = Likely to go out of production soon. It's a gun you really want, but maybe have no pressing need for, and is not likely to be banned, but rises higher on the list because you think that the maker, for whatever reason, such as reduced demand, will stop producing that gun in that caliber and config that you want.
C. ASNUIM = A specific new use in mind You have a new species of game that you want to hunt, or a new rifle/caliber combo tailor made for a specific new terrain you'll be headng to for an existing species, or or you have a new perceived self defense need, or you just want a target gun, or plinking gun, or whatever.
D. CONMEOL = Cheaper ones now, more expensive ones later. Just due to sheer feasibility and the budget, you tend to put the cheaper ones higher on the list even if the desire for them is not as great, just so that you can get r done and actually acquire them, cross them off your list, then save for the other ones, putting the real expensives mostly way down lower on the list, to pay for when your ship comes in.
E. GITICFAGBO = Guns I think I can find a good bargain on. For whatever reason, it's a buyer's market on gun "X", and so even though it's not the highest on the sheer desire list, it's trickled to the top so that I'll buy it when the prices are good.

For me it's #5 (B, then A, then E, then D, then C). But I also was strongly considering the #23 option.
