I have recently started to carry a Smith & Wesson J-Frame and a Taurus small frame in some circumstances. I need some suggestion on a couple of concealment holsters.

I normally carry single action auto loaders and tend to use a minimalist holster that holds the weapon in close to my body for better concealment. I'm looking for something similar for my revolvers. I want a holster that is molded in a general enough manner to allow the carry of similar weapons rather than being molded for one specific weapon. For instance, I have a Galco Jac Slide and Triple-K Jit Slide that allow me to carry any 1911, Hi-Power, Star B & BM, etc in the same holster.

I need a belt slide type holster and IWB holster for small frame revolvers. I'm looking for some that are reasonably priced yet I don't want junk or top shelf "name brand" prices. Tension screws might be a benefit. On the IWB, tuckable might be a plus but not a requirement. Comfortable is always nice.

Thanks in advance for your assistance,

Larry

Since you indicate that you like minimalist belt slides, Don Hume makes some of this type. (I have one myself.) The Taurus and S&W snubs are close enough in dimensions that either should fit. A belt slide that leaves the barrel exposed also enables you to carry revolvers of the same general frame size, but with different barrel lengths, in the same holster.

I strongly suggest getting a holster designed for a particular gun. This is particularly important with smaller guns. Generic one size fits many simply doesn't do the job when it comes to concealment. Spend a little more and get one designed for your own gun.

Take a look at the holsters from High Noon Holsters and see if they can't get you what you need and within your budget.

blazer610, I use an Uncle Mike's pocket holster, an Alessi Hard Shell Talon, and a belt holster by HBE. All are good choices but if I could only have one it would be the Uncle Mike's pocket holster. Regards, Richard:D

Waistband Holster

Check out www.frontiernet.net/~akim/prodnfo.html I have his pocket holster for my NAA Black Widow and it fits and works perfectly -- for $14.95 it's not just a real bargain, but essentially a give-away.

Although he doesn't offer a slide holster, he DOES have an IWB holster for $19.95. Now, while Mika makes each holster individually to fit your gun, at that price you can afford more than one.

While I know likes and dislikes about holsters are as individualized as preferences about ties, take a look at that web site. You might find what you want in an IWB holster and save a bundle at the same time.
