I think there was one posted before I don't think it was this small.

Originally made by Austrian watchmakers as decorative pocket watch chain fobs or as cufflinks, these miniature pinfire pistols are now prized collector's items. These are some from my own collection dating from 1904 to the 1970's. All of them fire 2mm blank pinfire cartridges. The revolvers are the world's smallest working double action blank firing pistols. They measure just 38mm in length and are smaller than the famous Swiss Mini Gun which measures 55mm.

hmmmmm

I wonder if you can get one with a tactical rail and night sights.

Heck of a pocket gun..... or a pocket full of them.

Heay uglyoldpoorman

Fascinating guns your have there.

Are you from the UK? ... that's a 2 pence piece you've used for comparison.

Ah … my mistake I didn’t realise you’d cut and pasted the passage.

Interestingly then, if these are from the UK as the coin suggests, I think they are banned (what a surprise!) as they fire the blank through the barrel as opposed to venting the flash out through the top of the frame - although their age may prelude them from such laws.

I’ve pretty much given up trying to understand all our crappy gun laws!

Interesting Vid though all the same.

I've heard about these guns, and even seen a couple pictures, but never seen a video of one being fired.

I have some 4mm revolvers, they fire actual cartridges, not blanks, and they are no where as small.

Ammo in the US is pretty scarce for my 4mm and I would suspect next to impossible for the 2mm.

Anyway, thanks for the post.

Cute little noise makers . Mostly made in Austria (the better ones) but some later copies made in Japan. That is of the single shot variety anyway.

They also made a 2mm single shot rifle with a tiny bayonet , and other varieties of pistols. I still have one of the little single shot Austrian made ones in my stuff around here. Not that many years ago they sold blank ammo for these and later reproductions of the single shot. Ammo was available for a time through Dixie Gun Works if I recall correctly.

The blank firing guns were advertised for sale in comic book ads as I recall, back in the 50's. Samples are somewhat readily available for sale on Ebay in the toy section. Depending on if Japanese or Austrian, and the style, etc. , they range in price from under $50 to several hundred.
