Actually plain ol .22LR works quite well. While shooting up north on my uncle's property, back when I was a kid, I leaned over the back of one of the rather large U.P. spiders which had sauntered, fearlessly, up to me with my trusty Stevens, and blasted it into nothingness.

My first thought when reading that comic this morning was: "Marlin 1894C!"

This comic strip may be another of those gender preference things.

My wife and most of the women I know hate this strip, most of the guys I know like it.

It's kind of like the Benny Hill, Three Stooges, Monty Python gap. Most women just don't enjoy them, most guys do.

I like the crocodiles in this strip.
