Hello all. I was wondering if someone knew of a source where I could find wooden grips for my 5" Gov't model? It has worn factory rubber grips and I'd like to spiff up the old gal. It sits on my nightstand at the ready. It will only feed FMJ's. I figure if that is all it will feed, that is good enough for me. Thank you.

I thought I read that the screws were slightly off from "true" 1911s.

I think if you check Ebay, you can find some wooden plates, without the screw holes drilled. That would require a little extra work, but it might also be more rewarding

You are correct on the spacing of the screws. I'm not a really handy wood worker, so I figured I'd ask here. Thanks

Ha ha, I was wondering when I would see another one of these pop up. I picked up a brushed chrome Llama Max-1 a few months ago. From what I've been reading everything but the extractor and the grips are supposed to be compatible with standard 1911 parts.

On another note, after I throated the barrel, polished the feed ramp and started running an Auto-Ordnance magazine it would run both fmj & jhp rounds. They also accept standard 1911 magazines but test them for functionality first

I used to carry this pistol Concealed years ago and had this pistol for several years now. I have all kinds of magazines for said pistol. It works like a Swiss Watch. It also has some Colt parts too that were installed by a former USMC armorer, prior to me buying this pistol.

My pistol is a black park finish, factory sights and just looking at it on my night stand, it looks plain jane. I have ZERO complaints about the reliability of my pistol. I had a former Green Beret CSM / Command Sgt. Major {RET} shoot my pistol as he was a former Match Pistol shooter and he said he wanted to buy my pistol at my cost. I'm a former MSGT / Master Sgt. Green Beret, and I said: "CSM? NOPE!! DONE!!". He chuckled and said: "You have a winner MSGT!! KEEP IT!!".
