hey,

so I was poking around my local shop, and found that they have an LMT Defender 2000 in stock, for $1280. I looked on LMT's website, and they dont specifically list the 2000 model under their Civilian Catalog page.

I've searched here and found excellent feedback on this model, but I'm curious why it's not listed on the mfgr's site. anybody have any input on this?

also, how difficult would it be to swap in an A2 stock in place of the A3-type adjustable?

other thoughts?

thanks! :)

I am not up on LMT prices, but that sounds like a good deal on a quality AR, especially these days.

The Defender 2000 is what it is on their catalog. That is a great deal these days. Grab it if you can. I'm assuming it's a complete rifle.

ok, same model then. the LMT website only lists Defender firearms w/the 16 designation, I'm assuming because of the 16" bbl, and didnt see anything w/2000 at all. my bad.

I was thinking it was a good price - really close to MSRP, and that seems to be the floor for many retailers recently, so I'll go first thing tomorrow and hope it's still there.

thanks guys :)

The A2 and A3 use the same stock, the M4's is adjustable. For that, you will need a new buffer tube, the stock, spring, buffer and all the other stuff in there. IIRC, Vltor sells kits that has everything that you need to switch from A2 to adjustable type stocks....

my bad on the A2/M4 thing...but, I want to switch from M4 style stock to A2, and Vltor doesnt have kits for that. do you guys know somewhere I can get a high quality kit to convert from M4 to A2?

:)
