The defender lower, complete rifle, Mpr defender or what? I'm looking for a complete Defender CQB MPR my self and am not coming up with much cheapest i've seen was around 1700 on the net 1575 was a quote I got from a local gun store but I forgot to ask if that included sopmod stock and sights as opposed to regular collapsible stock and possibly no sights

For the "basic M4" with a 16" barrel, you can expect $1,200 to $1,300. That is with the SOPMOD stock and without a rear sight. Add extra for the LMT rear sight.
If you want the MRP, or Monolithic Rail Platform, expect to pay megabucks.
I own LMT's "basic M4." The only rail my carbine has is on the upper receiver. Yes, believe it or not, I don't have a railed forearm!
I lost track of the round count, but it's well over 1,000. Not a problem and I'm very happy. They make 'em like they're suppose to.

They dropped the price on the MRPs a little while back. They aren't as pricey as they used to be. The MRP Piston now fills that slot.
The MRP is a single piece upper and rail. It's machined as one part. So..it's free float on steroids.
You also get easy swap barrels. I can swap the barrel on my MRP Piston in 2 minutes.Tarvis

How does that work? The top or bottom rail must be bolted on eh?

Nope. Solid rail. The barrel is held in by two bolts on the side. If you look at a pic of an MRP you'll see the two silver circles. That's where the bolts are. Take those out and the barrel slides out.
