I have 1000ct of everglades 124gr JHP, bullet length is .583 I think XTPs are .600~?

I'm trying to get a start/stop load using CFE Pistol. I found sparse XTP and Sierra data here and there that list 4.9-5.5, sound about right? Would like to get at least 1150 FPS

From the Hodgdon's article in the 2015 magazine: posted by bearleft on this forum. If you search you can find the copy of the actual page. I don't have the link.

Velocity is going to depend just as much on what your shooting the loads from as the loads themselves. What barrel length/platform are you trying to achieve 1150 from? I run 5.4gr CFE behind a 124 XTP as one of my "go to" loads and it runs about 1205fps from a Glock 17. Quite an accurate load to boot; I shoot it very well. Without checking notes I think current OAL I use for that load is 1.255". Depending on what your platform is, I would load about a magazine each at 5.0/5.2/5.4 and take those out to experiment. Once you decide on a powder volume, load another ladder with that powder charge but this time varying the OAL from 1.25,1.255,1.275,1.30,1.325 or something to that effect and see which combination does best in your pistol with that bullet and powder.

For Xtreme 124g 9mm RN, I found that about 5.0 - 5.1 gives the best accuracy. However, CFE is very forgiving in that anywhere from 4.8 to 5.2 gives almost as good accuracy. Shot from Glock 17, Glock 19 and Baby Eagle.

Forgot to post the gun, will be fired from an Evo pistol so that's about 8" of barrel which should gain me about +35-50 fps vs a standard handgun 4-5".

haven't reloaded for 9mm in years, in fact the only 9mm firearms I have are car guns with factory ammo, so most my powders I have are on the slower end for pushing heavy grains in 40s & 45's

Geez, still haven't gotten to reload. There's a super stomach bug going around , we have 600 kid out of school "some schools were closed" and now the parents are getting it, and of course working at a damn bank they brought it to us  if I could move my reloading bench in the bathroom I'd prob have 10000 rounds made up by now on my turret press
