Hey all

Ive done a fair amount of searching on various forums for load data using Missouri Bullet Co Hi-tek coated bullets, and had a couple quick questions.
I tried 500 of the 124gr coated round nose from MBC over 5gr of Power Pistol. Im happy with the load. Decently accurate, doesnt recoil badly.
I just purchased another 1000 of the 124's and 500 147gr to give them a try.

The change here is that Im switching to Titegroup for powder as this is what I can get locally and in decent quantity. I like the Power Pistol, but its too hit or miss if I can get it.

Suggested starting loads:

124gr RN bullet
3.5gr Titegroup
1.15 OAL
Winchester primer

147gr FP bullet
3gr Titegroup
1.10 OAL
Winchester primer

Pistol will be a M&P Pro 5", all stock

Anyone see any issues with either of these as a jump off point?

Thanks

I have went as low as 3.4 with both coated and uncoated MBC 125gr cones.
No function issues in my guns. Very soft IMO.
For my "normal" (medium) load I use 3.8gr of Titegroup with the MCB cones,
3.6 with the 125 MBC SWCs.

Don't know about the RN but maybe this is some help.

titeroup, bayou bullets, 150gr

Started loading bayou bullets, coated 150r lswc with Titegroup.
1.10" oal, various clean used brass, cci small pistol primers.

2.6gr kinda soft, I could feel it wouldnt come close to minimum power factor

2.8gr very good, good groups, closer to a good load.

3.0gr just as good as 2.8gr.

So, 2.8 grains is my choice, really nice loads. STill needs Chrono though.

Only problem is you need to plunk test every single round before shooting.
I had 2 outa 250 that had bulging brass that wouldnt let the round drop in to a good plunk.

be safe.

I'm using 2.9gr of Titegroup with a 147gr Bayou coated bullet at an OAL of 1.125. Works great in my Glocks. With the 124gr I'm using 3.3 grains of TG.
I do the plunk test and load accordingly.

Thanks for the replies.

Ended up 3.5gr with the 124's and 1.09 OAL and 3gr with the 147s and 1.10. Both pass plunk test.
