Was at a LGS today and saw 2 guns from an estate sale. One was a S&W model 422, blue, 22lr, wood grips, 4-1/2 barrel, adjustable sights, 98 + % condition, in original cardboard box . The other was a Mauser HSC, 380 cal., Blue, wood grips, mid 70's, as NIB with all the original paperwork including the original bill of sale. Any ideas of what the value would be for these. Thanks

An S&W 422 is an oft overlooked semi auto .22
They were reliable , which is an advantage in a smaller .22 pistol. $275 is good. The HSC are some what finiky IMHO and not as desireable IMHO.

Oh, the 422 is an auto? I just assumed it was a revolver. Still, a S&W for $275.....I'd buy it.

I never thought they were all that great as I have had to fix a few of them that were shot more then a little.

Still, I suppose $275 ain't bad?

And I have passed on several HSc's over the years cheaper then that.

But that was then and those prices, and this is now.

Definitely buy the S&W and forget about the Mauser. The 422 was a great lightweight plinker whereas the HSc in .380 can be rather problematic in getting it to work right.
