lol Vector, I just saw that too, that's a new link, I've not seen that video before...
I talked to the guy who makes this before, he also said I can order either a regular holster for inside the vault, or I can get one that would accomodate a weapon light if I ask for it. For one of these boxes, the application would be for my Glock 19 w/ mounted weapon light for HD, so I wanted to make sure it would fit. He also said he was making something that would attach somehow to the existing safe that would hold extra ammo, but I haven't followed up on that in awhile.
I measured it and this would fit under the passenger seat of our sedan, as one of the photos shows, and I can either mount it to the bed, floor, wall, or nightstand, or wherever.
See, I bought one of the gunvault style boxes before and brought it home, and I couldn't come up w/ any good way to mount it where it was secured, out of sight, and easily accessible at night. I didn't want it out in open sight, I wanted it either mounted to the floor under the bed, or mounted upside down under the bed, but I had a hard time reaching all the way under to the buttons when it was upside down, and once I did get it open, the door swung open into my hand and made it harder to reach around the door to get the gun out of the ceiling (now the floor) of the gun vault, and if I mounted it under the bed on the floor, then I was contorting my hand around at an odd angle to get to the top buttons, which I couldn't reach down for consistently in practiced scenarios, and then you have to reach all the way to the floor to get the gun out.
So, my feeling was the simplex style lock that has the buttons on the front door and one where the door opens to the side, would be more appropriate to mount under the bed, because the buttons are easier to reach consistently, and when the door opens, it doesn't interfere w/ your hand getting to the gun, and the titan I linked to actually brings the gun out of the case as you open the door, so that seemed even better to me, when thinking of doing this on the fly and potentially in the dark.
I currently have two of these
http://www.center-of-mass.com/Store_InCarGunSafe.htm I have two large ones, one under the bed, and one under the seat of the sedan, both keyed the same. I can fit the Glock 19 w/ mounted light in 15+1 format, w/ an additional 15rd mag and an additional 33rd mag, very snug, but it fits. The other one is in the sedan, which I rarely drive, but I have it there when I need it.
Then I also have a handgun safe made by R&D Enterprises, whose website now says they're not making anything right now, but may again in the future. It was the only good simplex locking safe that fit nicely in the console of my SUV that I drive most of the time. It was almost $200, and since they already stopped making it, I spent my money on that one while I could, coz it was a must have.
When I get some more cash, I'll by one of those titan gun vaults I linked to, and put it in the bedroom, and if I like it I'll buy another one for the sedan.
My plan was to have 3 glocks in 9MM, the 19 (compact), 26 (subcompact), and then decide if I want another 19 or another 26 more, and get the third one. Then, if I have 9MM mags in each car, and in different places around the house, as long as I have one of those glocks on me, I'm not far from a loaded mag, if I don't have a reload on me, or I don't think it's gonna be enough. I keep silicone packs in them to help control moisture, and check them out periodically.
Then, I can use the other COM key lock boxes for extra ammo, or other stash places, like by the front door coat closet, or for travel, rental cars, etc.
Well, that's phase one of the plan :> of course there are other shotguns, rifles and handguns in the mix, but I haven't gotten that far yet!
Just my .02 Good luck w/ whatever you get.

Karz
