Gentlemen,
I appreciate all of the responses. Maybe I should have title the post "LW barrels-not me" instead of the "don't do it." Its just that I was dissappointed in what I received and the whole experience. My expectations were different than reality and that's probably my fault. I researched barrels for months before deciding to buy the LWD. I have many firearms, but this is the first time that I have modified a handgun. I expected it to be a "drop in" experience that would readily consume any and all ammo just like the OEM barrel. I admit, my post was too harsh.
That being said, here's what I am experiencing: I have 4 mags for this pistol. Three of the mags are older (same age) and one is new. The pistol will feed fine from three of the mags, including two of the older ones and the new one, of course. Maybe the one that will not feed has a weaker spring, but it works fine with the OEM barrel. None of the mags have been used very much at, maybe 200 rounds between all four.
Again, I was harsh with my post because I was frustrated at the amount of time it took from the time I ordered until I received the barrel (2 months), and because I wanted a blind-mark barrel and the one I got has regular markings on the breach end. After that, I install it and try to chamber a round (the first mag I picked up was the one that doesn't feed) and that was the last straw for me. This is why I was agravated.
Is the barrel a piece of junk? No. Does it meet the advertised specs? Yes (not considering I payed for a blind marked barrel and didn't get it). Will I keep it? Maybe. I found out recently that LWD barrels are made in Korea and I don't like that (if it's true). Will I buy from LWD again? Yes, probably. I will likely not buy another barrel from them.
