Longest time of owning before firing?

I have a Ruger Superblack that I bought in 1976 that is still unfired in the box. But normally when I buy a new gun (or new to me) if I haven't fired it in a couple of hours I start to get the shakes, then my temper gets real bad and my wife tells me if I don't go shoot that damn gun she's going to shoot me. I've been known to buy a gun and go out and shoot it by flashlight if it was dark when I got home. Guess I need professional help huh? rugerman

I usually shoot a new gun within hours after I buy it.
(got a back yard range)

I built a 45 cal black powder Hawkin to hang on the wall but after a couple months I just had to try it out. Shoots great.

I've had a couple "like new" Makarovs for a few months that I haven't shot, because I have 9 others that I shoot.
I have 2 more (like new) Maks ordered that I might not shoot for a few months but I'll get around to it.:)

My father in law gave me his '94 Winchester that he bought in 1963, he never fired it. After he got back from Vietnam he had no interest in guns and I've had it a few years. Sitting in the safe, I clean it now and then and other than some very light pitting on the side plate (it was a wall hanger for years and the side against the wall pitted slightly) it has basically been unhandled.

I've never fired it, don't have any ammo for it. I'm sure I'll get around to shooting it someday... we'll see.

Well, I always, without fail, take 'em out of the box and disassemble as much as recommended for cleaning and inspection. Then lubricate and reassemble. I've gone as long as overnight before getting them to the range for the maiden voyage, but that's about it.

A Yugo 24/47 mauser. Had it about a month. That will change tomorrow.:D Have a CZ-75b that I bought at the same time as the mauser. It had not been fired before last night. The cz-75 is one sweet shooter.

I've got a 20ga double that I got 4 yrs ago thats never been fired. And
just picked up an old Marlin 336 (used) that I tore down, it was
somebodys truck gun pretty sad, refinished it and look'in pretty
sharp again (scope and all) needs to be sighted in again, and I
finished it a coupl'a months ago... Now that I think about it.
It took me a year and a half to fire my in-line black powder for
the first time.......
