A local store started carrying 5.11 gear and clothing, so I stopped by to check it out. I thought they had some good looking stuff in their catalog, surely I could find something I couldn't live without. Well, they definitely had some cool stuff, didn't quite have the cash for what I wanted, but what let me down was the pants (and everything was made in China, but that is another topic). They had really cool features, like mag pouches inside of the pockets, but they looked just a little to "professional".
Does anyone make pants (not jeans) that appear to be normal dockers style, but have maybe concealed features like the mag pockets or maybe an adjustable waist or a relief for IWB carry? Don't get me wrong, the 5.11 would fit the bill, they just scream EMT/Deputy, and I am neither one of those.

Digger, where did you find the 5.11 gear?

We have a Fire/Police/EMS store and when I am buying with department money (Fire/EMS) I go there... when I am buying my own gear above and beyond what the department issues I go to the Army/Navy (read paintball whacker) store and there are a couple of different knock off companies a lot cheaper and they are tuned down a notch.

One of the brands is "Propper" and their pants are half the price of 5.11 but more than half the quality.

I have learned though that when it comes to holding up to blood, glass and other nastiness it is hard to beat 5.11.....

Look at Woolrich Tactical Elite Series. I really like them. The pants look much less tactical, especially with a Polo-type shirt.

Their "Discrete" pants that have side pockets, but the pockets are vertical zippers. Furthermore, the belt loops are the proper width and not 1" wide (which interferes with holster placement). The pockets are very large and can easily hold a J-Frame revolver. The rear pockets are double pockets: large for a dump pouch and a regular small one.

I also have a pair without the side pockets. Same features, just giant pockets and good loops for 1.75" belts.

I have several pairs of SigTac I really like. Wish someone else would pick up the design.
