I really like the two H&Ks I currently have and carry and am looking to add a third. I have a 1983 P7PSP and a 2002 "AC" P2000 LEM 9mm. I want to add a compact .45 H&K to the stable, so naturally I'm looking real hard at the USP Compact .45; however, I'm hearing good things about the new HK45c as well. I have handled, but not shot, a few USPc .45s, so I know how they feel in my hand (real good), but can't seems to find a HK45c in any stores near me (I need to get down to a gun show soon). I see CDNN has new USP Compact .45s for $699.99 and new HK45 Compacts for $829.99. Basically, the question is (and I'm sure its been asked before), is the HK45c worth the extra $130? I know I really need to try one out myself to be sure, but I would like to hear from the members here who have handled/shot both. I'm leaning towards the USP Compact, because I can buy more ammo and/or mags with the extra $130.;) Thanks.

The HK45, and by extention the 45c, seem to sit a little better in the hand, point a little better, have a little bit lower bore axis, and (from what I've heard) are a little more accurate and soft shooting than the USP series. I love my USP .45 full size, its a soft shooter for a .45, but I've never shot the USP compact .45. I hear that the recoil is a little more stout since they couldnt fit all of the "recoil reducing" technology into its smaller frame, or something like that. I dont like the looks of the HK45 as much as the USP, but for some reason, to me the HK45C looks a lot better. I know this didnt answer your question of "is it worth it?" but thats entirely up to you. I'd probably do it :)

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully soon, I can find a HK45c locally to try out.

The HK45c is sleeker and easier to conceal and shoots like a dream. Nothing wrong with the USP series, I have 3, but the 45c is better IMO.
