The previous thread about safes/rscs got got me thinking about buying a Safe, or more likely an RSC. I am very naive about safes so I'm looking for some advice/answers regarding buying a safe/rsc.
I have looked at the Amsec and Graffunder websites but they do not have prices listed. The Gardall website does have prices listed however, so for purposes of this discussion I would like to compare prices of various brands to those of Gardall.
What I looking for is to prevent theft, fire is really a secondary concern to me. Also weight is an issue, as after I buy the safe/rsc I will likely move in the future. So I am thinking 4-500 lbs. I am guessing that the weight restriction will leave me with RSC's and not B rated safes.
I will try to position the cabinet so that a minimum amount of sides can be accessed.
The Gardall website has a model 6024 or 6030 unit that I'm using as a refrence point right now.

One thing I noticed in their paper brochure is that although the doors seem quite thick, the sides were 12ga sheet metal? The Amsec LP and W safes have the same sheet metal thickness according to the Amsec website.

Is 12ga sheet metal easy to break into?
Also if someone could please provide prices for the Amsec safes it would be appreciated.
What other brands are well made but affordable? I'd be willing to spend about $1200 or so, not including shipping, installation ect.
Thank you very much for your time and advice.

The Gardall gun safes that you are looking at are imported, and the same as the Diamonds that I sell on my website. You can click on the link in my signature line to see the prices. The Gardalls are about 50% more, and the only thing different is the name on the door.

The AMSEC LP series is also an imported safe that have been rebranded. The BF series start in the $1,700 range, and is a much better safe than any of the others in its price range.
