Looking at SR9C

The magazine disconnect is nothing more than a preference issue. If you can't learn to operate the gun with it, you probably shouldn't be using a gun in the first place.

How many of us have actually been in a situation where a magazine disconnect caused an issue? Ayoob, who was just used as a reason to not remove such an item, also feels that a properly trained person can use that feature as an advantage in the case of grappling for the gun.

I use an SR9c as part of my carry rotation. Been using it like that over a couple of years now. NEVER have I found the magazine unlatched, even after strenuous activity.

Let your wife check it out, shoot it if possible, then let her decide. Mine has been flawless with every JHP I've tried, and has had exactly ZERO failures in over 1000 rounds.

You say it's a preference issue but if someone doesn't have the same preference as you they shouldn't be using a gun? Riiiiiiiiiight. I operated my 9c enough before I knew you could take out the disconnect so I think your statement is very condescending. I'm not even sure how operation would change between with and without the disconnect other than in the event of dropping the magazine and whether you need snap caps to dry fire practice.

I'd imagine that most of us haven't been in a situation where having to render the weapon inert was necessary either. I agree that it CAN be an advantage, but it could also be a disadvantage depending on the situation such as the one I described. That is Ayoob's preference, many people have a different one.

Well my experience is different than yours and because of that so is my preference.
