I have a Glock 22 that feels perfect and shoots flawlessly, I'm looking for 9mm that will feel the same in my hand. I haven't been around too many of the 9's and am looking for an option to start with. Thanks for the help.

Feel the same? Does that mean you want polymer? I would suggest an XD or another Glock.

Well generally I recommend the following 9mms:
1. CZ P-01 or PCR ($489'ish) (small, reliable, affordable, best value)
2. BHP ($600) (points like no other, simple, piece of history, perhaps the most reliable IMHO)
3. 1911 in 9mm ($750 and up)(unless RIA or if Taurus EVER releases theirs):banghead: (they would be less $)

They have different grips than the Glock, however.

If the Glock 22 feels perfect in your hand then a Glock 17 - the G22's 9mm predecessor - would be a great fit.

If you decide to venture outside of Glocks almost every major manufacturer makes a great 9mm. The Browning / FN Hi-Power is a personal favorite, and was the original double stack mag, hi capacity "wonder nine." The HK USP, SIG P Series, S&W M&P, Springfield XD, S&W 99 / Walther P99, Ruger P Series, Taurus Mil Pro, FN FNP, CZ-75, several Berettas, and many other makes all have loyal fan bases. Any of them will serve you well, so just get the one the points most naturally and feels best in your hand.

3. 1911 in 9mm ($750 and up)(unless RIA or if Taurus EVER releases theirs) (they would be less $)
The way to do it is to get an RIA in .38 Super and then add a 9mm bbl. The gun will be less than $400, and the bbl should run you between $100 and $200 including a little gunsmithing if isn't a literal drop in fit. There are no other changes needed. That's the most economical way I know of to get a 1911 in 9mm.

You may consider H&K P 2000 in LEM configuration.
I have a Euro V3 version, since I wanted it to resemble my years used P 226.
Best.

If you want something that feels the same, get a G17. I would look at the mid size Glocks - IMO, the G19 is the best sized frame in the Glock line up

FWIW, I have a G34, G22, G17, G19 and G29. If I were in your position I would just get a 9mm barrel that fits the G22 and a couple of G17 mags. I DO have that set up for my G22 and have never had any problems.

If you want another Glock in 9mm, try out the G17 and G19. Pick what fits your hand. My G17 is a range pistol, while the G19 is a CCW pistol.

IMO, the ultimate Glock is the G29, roughly the same size as the G19. Easy to carry and has PLENTY of power also.

I do own XD's, M&P. Steyr's and a Sigma also, IMO, Glock does win OVERALL as far as reliability, parts, service and user friendly.

So I can buy a barrel and a couple mags and I have a 9mm with my G22? I don't have to get anything else?
Yes. However you'll want to change the extractor for maximum reliability from what I've read. If you head over to www.glocktalk.com and search "9mm conversion" you should find a wealth of info. The guys there should also be willing to help walk you through it if you have any questions.

if you want something that feels like the 22 then the 17 is the way to go or my personal favorite glock the model 19.

but i can't let a chance to reccomend the xd line up pass me by so go get one of those and try it out!:)

I joined Glock Talk this morning, I'll take a look for the conversion and ask whatever questions there.
I've shot my buddies XD40 and that's how I ended up with the 40 cal Glock. I enjoyed shooting his, but in my hands the Glock is the perfect fit.
I've also looked at the Taurus on line and I just read the review for it in American Handgunner. I'm going to be at the gun shop tomorrow and hopefully they have one I can take a look at.
I'm not going to close any options for manufacturers but if I can have my Glock 22 in .40 cal, 9mm and 22lr, why would I ever buy any other gun. Especially if they'll last forever like all the articles I've been reading.

P35

2. BHP ($600) (points like no other, simple, piece of history, perhaps the most reliable IMHO)

Easy to strip.
Made of metal, and some even have wood.
Only one lever to mess with when it's shooting time.
Many comfortable grips and spare parts available.

Try one, you'll like it.

That's amazing, I read that one yesterday. He says video to follow and I'd probably pay for it too. I can't wait to get 200,000 rounds through the G22. I'm sure I'll have a number of guns in the house but most of them will be Glocks. I'll be at the shop tomorrow and I can try out some different kinds. I'll bring a list of all the suggestions I got here and see what I come out with. Although I'm bringing the wife so I might just walk out with the 22lr conversion (if I'm lucky) and have to be happy with that for now. But I can order parts to make a 9mm too, when I get all the info so for now I don't know what I'm gonna get.

Go look at the CZ P-01 if you have a chance .. I love glocks but the CZ P-01 is a hell of a gun .. go check it out
